How to stick to your exercise regime
When it comes to losing weight, exercise is one of the most important steps to achieve your ideal healthy weight. That being said, lots of people have difficulty with actually staying motivated when it comes to making exercise a habit and this can lead to giving up on your exercise regime. This post will lay out three tips to help keep you motivated with your exercise plan.
Many people stop exercising over time because they simply lack the motivation to keep on doing it, they think that it is boring or maybe even that it is not working. One way in which you can get this motivation back is by remembering why you started exercising in the first place and whether or not you really want to start from the beginning again. The second method is to ask yourself whether or not you will regret skipping this workout session, or if it is worth it to do so.
Remember – you are already overlapping the people on the couch!
2. Exercise with a friend
When it comes to exercising by yourself, you can give yourself a bit too much leeway, you might say that it’s OK to do a twenty-minute run today instead of a thirty-minute run, or that you can give yourself a day off. If you exercise with a friend, though, this will not be the case. You will compel each other to stick with your regime and lose weight as you will not want to let your friend down – you’re far less likely to bail on a gym session if you are letting someone else down. Furthermore, exercising with a friend will be far more enjoyable than exercising by yourself, making you want to exercise rather than making you feel like you need to exercise.
3. Reward yourself
Reaching your ideal weight might sometimes feel too out of reach, so one way you can help yourself to stay on track is by giving yourself little rewards to stay committed. For instance, buying new workout gear will reward your effort and also give you more motivation to continue exercising, as you will want to try out the new gear that you have bought – again, making you want to exercise.
